Dressed for Snow
It's New Years Eve!! For the second year in a row my plans may be cancelled due to snow. It is snowing out now and I am waiting for the news to come on to see what they say about the rest of the day. Last year we just went out New Years night but this year that may not be an option because we are suppose to get snow for the next few days. One of the storms will be a big one.
The Sugar Bowl has started up again and you know me, I have to play. This time it is a sketch the the theme "new". You could do New Years, New Baby etc or use a new stamp. I decided to use a new stamp. I really liked the patchwork jacket on this snowman. It was also easy to cut out which worked perfectly with this sketch.
I was tempted to put some glitter on this card but I wanted it to look a little more country so I resisted the temptation.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe New Years Eve. I'll see you in 2010!!!
If you like my card please leave a comment. I love reading all the things you say.

Snow Much Fun
Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone is having a good after Christmas week. I have been really lazy. I need to get busy if I am going to get everything done this week I promised myself I would do. I have made some time to stamp though. Funny how that works.
This is my first Kraftin Kimmie stamp. I just thought he was so cute and different than my other winter stamps. When I saw the Crazy 4 Challenges sketch I thought this stamp would be perfect for it. I colored it with bright colors but still felt it needed something so I used my white gel pen and put dots on the scarf. I love my gel pen. I also used it on the snowflakes around the card. I didn't think I would like this MS punch when I bought it but noone had the one I wanted and in the past they sell out and then I don't have any. This worked out because I do like it alot. The only problem is that it makes the work area on a 5 x 5 card alot smaller and since so many stamps are large these days it can get a little hard to fit everything in.
The challenges this fits are:
Crafty Calendar - Winter Sparkle
Crazy 4 Challenges - Sketch
Kraftin Kimmie - Sparkle Baby
Kaboodle Doodles - Sparkling Winter
Practical Scrappers - Winter
Crafty Creations - No Rules
Lots To Do - Free Theme
Well, I have alot to get done today and so far I spent most of the morning on the phone with my sister. Tonight I am heading to my LSS store and dinner with her and some stamping friends. I am looking forward to it!!!
I hope you like my card. If you do please let me know. I love reading all the comments!!

Congrats
Good Morning. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I love the holidays but I also have to say I like when everything gets "back to normal". It was nice waking up and not having to think about all the things for the Holiday I still needed to do. I am on vacation this week so I can stamp, take down all my decorations, spend time with friends and basically just do what I want. Needless to say stamping will be on that list.
Isn't this little lady cute? She is from The Greeting Farm. Her name is Madelynn.
I was going to send this to my Niece as a thank you card for my XMAS gift (a gift card from my LSS) but I'm thinking that maybe I want to send it to her as a congratulations card for her new job. She got laid off in February and has been working odd jobs until she found a full time one. She finally got hired by a local company 2 weeks ago. She starts 1/4. I am so happy for her.
I thought of the idea of the congrats card instead of the thank you when I saw that some challenges were new beginnings. I obviously thought of New Years cards but when I was making this I thought that starting a new job was definitely a new beginning and remembered that I wanted to send my Niece something but got too busy with the Holidays.
The challenges this fits are:
Paperplay - New Beginnings
Daring Cardmakers - New Beginnings
Quixotic - Lace
If the Shoe Fits - Coloring
Charisma Cardz - Anything but XMAS
Cupcake Craft - A time for Celebration
A Spoonful of Sugar - Sketch
Thank you for stopping by today. Let me know what you think of my cards. I love reading all of your comments. They make me smile and make my day brighter!!!

Not even a Mouse
Good Evening. I don't know about everyone else but I am so busy getting ready for XMAS. I am done my shopping and most of my wrapping but now I need to get ready for XMAS Eve. I have my family over so I have to clean, shop and bake.
This the the XMAS card I sent out this year. This is a High Hopes stamp I bought last year. I got it too late to make any cards last year so I knew immediately that this would be my XMAS card this year. I colored alot of it with Shimmerz because I wanted it to shine. I put glitter on the fur and the mouse was colored with Copics. The DP was some I bought for .10 each 12 x 12 sheet. I liked it because it had dark green in it. So much of XMAS DP I see has the light green and I wanted a darker color.
The card happens to fit a few challenges:
Forever Friends - Anything Goes
Handful of Stamps - Card must have red on it.
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
Stamp Something - Holiday Something
Thank you for visiting. If I don't get a chance to post again before Friday I want to make sure I tell everyone to have a wonderful Holiday. Stay safe and have fun.

Dear Santa
Good Morning. Long time no post....I am sure I am not alone when I say I am just too busy to stamp. I still can't believe XMAS is 10 days away. I'm heading to the mall at lunch today to hopefully pick up the last couple of gifts I need.
I love this image by Sugar Nellie. Unfortunetly I colored him at night and you can see all my mistakes which I didn't notice until I edited the photo. This card looks much better in real life.
I have to keep this short but this card fits the following challenges.
Friday Sketchers challenge - Sketch
Frosted Designs - Holiday card
I hope everyone is having a good week. I hope you are getting all your gifts bought and wrapped. Thanks for stopping by. Let me know what you think of my little guy.

Just Chillin
The weekend is finally here! I am planning to decorate my Xmas tree today. I have been looking at an empty tree for a couple of days now and it's ugly! I had to run all my errands early today because we are expecting about 5-6 inches of snow tonight. I hate driving in the snow.
Isn't this little guy cute? He's from Kraftin Kimmie stamps. He comes with a saying that says Just Chillin'. I thought that was cute with it but I wanted a holiday saying so I typed it out with the rest of my saying on the computer. I liked the Bo Bunny paper I used for the middle squares but it was shiny and didn'tlook good with my CS so I painted the CS with shimmers before I ran it through the cuttlebug. I stamped the snowflakes with a Rubberstamp tapestry set I have. I love the snowflakes in this set.
This card came about when I saw the Color Create challenge of Lilac with Aqua, Black and White. I actually dug into my stash of SU Caribbean. I don't have much so I hoard it. I don't know why but I do.
The sketch is from Friday Sketchers. I always like cards with the squares but I never think to do it so when I saw the sketch I knew I had to try.
There were 3 other challenges that came to mind when I was making this card. Crafty Cardmakers theme is Alternative XMAS, Spoonful of Sugar was Non-Traditional colors and Paperplay was Xmas without Red & Green. I knew I wanted to participate in these but didn't know what colors to use. I like the aqua and purple.
Allsorts posted their theme today and it is to use purple on your card. I like taking a break from Red and Green.
Thank you for visiting today. Let me know what you think. I love reading your comments.

Merry Kissmas
Good afternoon. Today is the new Sugar Bowl challenge. This will be the last one until 12/30!!! AHHH!! I guess the other Sugar Nellie Christmas images I have will be used for other challenges! I guess I should spread the wealth!!!
This week in addition to the sketch was to use your favorite color. Normally Red and Green are not what I would consider my favorite colors but at XMAS they are IT!! I always just pick out red and green markers and paper. I love XMAS cards in red and green. I don't think twice unless it is a snowflake or snowman!
This is one of the free images I received when I won the Sugar Bowl challenge. It was one of those stamps I kept looking at and couldn't figure out what I would use it for. When I won the challenge this was the first stamp I thought of. I just think this is adorable! I didn't have a mistletoe stamp so I made my own. I wanted to put Merry Kissmas as the saying but the image is bigger than I thought and so now I don't have any space on the card.
This was a really fun sketch but I didn't have a regular circle that fit any of the images I have colored so I used the scalloped and picked the image based on what would look best with scalloped. I then thought it looked too "blank" and didn't just want to put dots so I found a $1 Michaels heart punch and just started punching. I think it looks really cute. I'm sure you will see a similar card Valentines Day.
Well I think that is it for today. I hope everyone is having a good Thursday...the weekend is almost here!!!
Thanks for visiting. I hope you like my card.

Thanks a Bunch
Good Afternoon everyone. This week is flying by. I have been incredibly busy at work. So busy in fact that I have not had any time to mount some new stamps I got. I usually fit in some time to do that no matter what is going on.
A couple weeks ago I was in the mood to color XMAS images. This is one of the one's I picked. I always like candles at XMAS. I don't have alot of time to post so...the challenges are:
Friday Sketches - I really loved this weeks sketch and it fit perfectly with this image.
Cupcake Craft - Red & Green
Frosted Design - Same shape different sizes
Stamp Something - Thank you card
Cuttlebug - Glitter & Bling
Got to keep this short. Thank you for stopping by. Let me know what you think of my card.

XMAS Wreath
Good Afternoon! I hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend. Mine has been busy. Today I am pulling out all my XMAS stuff. I can't believe it is less than a month away. I do feel good that I have started my shopping.
This wasn't the card I was going to post. I made a card for my Nephews birthday and took a picture before I gave it to him last night but for some reason my camera will not upload the pic's to my computer. I have 2 computers here and it doesn't work on either one. Grrr...Since I gave the card I can't scan it. I did scan this and it looks like I won't have the best pictures of my cards until I decide what to do about the camera.
I was going through challenges this AM and this card fits fits 2 of them.
Color Create - Red, Green and White
Crazy for Challenges - Punches
I hope everyone is enjoying their day. I guess I better get back to unpacking the boxes so I'm not tripping over them all week.

Beary Christmas
Good Morning! I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Mine is relaxing. I have a feeling this may be the last relaxing weekend I have until XMAS. I can't believe Thanksgiving is this week and XMAS is a month away. I have not even started my shopping yet.
I made this card yesterday. I had downloaded some Digi images from Cuddly Buddly and thought they were so cute I had to color one. You should check these out. They have alot of free downloads. I picked this cute Bear in the Santa hat to color first. IRL he is really sparkly. I didn't realize until I had printed out the image that I picked up the SU shimmer paper instead of my Papertrey White. He looks really cute with the shimmer. I also used Yellow shimmerz on the bird. I really like shimmerz but it doesn't photograph well. I stickled the fur on the hat and the berries.
I had written down some of the challenges out there and realized that this card fit a few of them.
Friday Sketches - Sketch for this card
Dare you to digi stamp - Glitter
Creative Inspirations - Sparkle
Spoonful of Sugar - Baby's 1st Christmas

Be Merry
TGIF!!! Don't you love Friday's? The countdown to the weekend is here.
Yesterday I was going through some challenges. I saw that Kerry's challenge was a XMAS card with NO Green and Red. My mind went to snow or snowmen. I decided that I would make a snowflake card with my stencil and paste. When I started this is not what I had in mind but I had trouble finding DP to look good with it so when I decided to stay with strickly CS I just kept refining and this is the end result. I really like the bright blue and white. IRL this card really pops. I like working with the paste and glitter. It is so easy.
I also saw that this card fit 3 other challenges. One was Crafty Calendar. The theme was Weather and snow definetly fits that theme. It won't be long and we will see it falling from the sky here. It is so pretty as it is falling but not so pretty after a couple of days.
The second challenge was Secret Crafter. Their theme was Seasons. Winter is a very long season here in the Northeast. I'm laughing as I am writing this but by February the smile will be gone.
The third was for Daring Cardmakers. This was an interesting challenge. It was to use 3 things on your card that start with the first letter of your name. Mine is Punches, Pearls and Paste.
I was also happy that I got to use my MS punches. I didn't know if I really liked these or not but I do like it on this card. I'm not sure I would have like it as much without the punch. I need to investigate and see what other people are doing with these punches. If you know of anywhere I should check out let me know. I am always looking for new ideas. It's part of what makes this craft so much fun.
Thanks for visiting. Let me know what you think. I love hearing from everyone.

Make a Wish
Good Morning everyone! I hope everyone is having a good week.
I made this card for the Sugar Bowl #24. This week in addition to the sketch was Zig Zags. This was a big problem for me. I don't own any zig zag ribbon that went with my image and I don't have a zig zag punch. I started thinking outside of the box. I found a herringbone cuttlebug folder that I thought looked like zig zags so that is what I went with. The orchid in the background is embossed with this folder. I put the card together and then thought it needed something else so I glittered some felt snowflakes I have and layered them on my silver squares.
I really love this stamp. She is so dainty and she is made for glitter which I love. I love Blue and Purple so it was not hard to pick the colors I thought she would look best in. I really liked the end result.
Well, I have to keep this short. I need to get back to work. I hope you like my card. Thank you for visiting my blog. Let me know what you think.

Happy Fall
Wow time flies. I just looked at my blog and realized I have not posted in almost a week. I have been spending some of the time finishing my XMAS cards. I always get a burst of energy when I start then it fades and they sit there until I work up the modivation to finish them. The sad thing is I really don't have many to make (~25) but they tend to have alot of steps. I will post in a few weeks after I mail them.
I don't know if I like this card. I made this for Mary Jo's sketch challenge #96and PaperPlay challenge #41. Mary Jo's Sketch was a big tag. I thought, no big deal, wrong! The Paper Play Challenge was 2 pieces of DP, Ribbon and 3 buttons. I am not normally a button person but I thought that it would be easy to work them into this sketch, again wrong! It started out great but when all is said and done I don't know if I like it. I like the colors, image, sentiment but I don't seem to love it all put together. I had a tough time finding buttons to match and then remembered I had some leaf buttons which made me happy. I popped up the tag and the oval to try to give the card some dimension. Isn't it funny how some sketches just look so easy and they tend to give you the most headaches.
Well hopefully I will have more time to create and post over the next week. Thanks for stopping by. Let me know if you like my card. I try to tell myself that everyone has different tastes and just because I don't love it doesn't mean other people won't.

Just Hanging Around
Happy Wednesday! We are half way to the weekend!
As everyone knows, I am addicted to Sugar Nellie. When I won some stamps a few weeks ago they didn't have a few in stock that I wanted. I got an email a couple of weeks ago saying that I could get 20% off all stamps as a Sugar Nellie Birthday offer. I took advantage of that to buy the ones I didn't get free. This is one of them called Magna Girl. Isn't she cute. I really wanted one sitting down. I'm not one to do alot of cutting out but you almost have to with her.
I made this card for 3 challenges. The first is Mary Jo's Sketch challenge #95. I really liked the sketch she picked out this week. The second is for Stamp Something for Love. This week the challenge not only has a recipe of using Ribbon, 2 papers and 3 embellishments but is also a call out to make a card for Jaimie. You have probably read about this so I won't go into all the details again. If not please go to Stamp Something for Jaimie blog to read all about it. It is a story that reminds you of what is important in life. It also reminds me of all the big hearts in our crafting community. If you have a card sitting around, send it to Jaimie. The address in on the Stamp Something for Jaimie blog. The 3rd is the Basic Grey challenge. This was an inspiration challenge. The picture was Maroon & White so originally this card was not make for that challenge but while I was making it I thought of the picture so I figured that it inspired me so....
I have not put a sentiment on this yet. I still haven't decided what to put but will stamp something before I put it in the mail.
I love to see people come and look at what I have created. I would love to hear what you think. All comments make my day!

First Snow
Good Afternoon! Is everyone having a good weekend? Yesterday, I went to a craft show in Boston with 2 of my sisters and my niece. It was alot of fun. I bought a couple of things for my house. One I am going to give to my brother to give me for XMAS. My brother likes it because he doesn't have to figure out what to buy and I know I am getting something I want. I bought some aromatherapy things and some butterscotch sauce to make some really good desserts. We love going to these things. It always amazes me how talented some people are. We were joking yesterday that we need to buy bigger houses just to buy more stuff to decorate, epecially for XMAS.
When I saw the challenge on the Colour Create Challenge Blog I knew I had to do it. The colors this week are Blue, Silver and White. I started out with a lighter blue but it ended up not matching the colors on the snowman's hats so I went with Turquoise. It looked plain to me so I used the Martha Stewart Icicle punch on the top. I know this will be one of my favorite punches this winter. I also wanted to do something a little different than just square layers under the snowman so I used one of my spellbinders dies and twisted them around. I then ran it through the cuttlebug with the snowflake embossing folder. Then, of course, lots of Glitter.
This card was alot of fun to make. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Give Thanks
Good Afternoon everyone. I hope everyone is having a good week. Mine is busier than I thought it would be. I had hopes of making a couple of cards for challenges but didn't have time until today. I have had a touch of a bug and I have had no energy to do anything after work.
It is time for the Sugar Bowl. In addition to following the sketch, this week we needed to include Thankfulness. I had this image colored and had to use it soon before Fall turned into Winter. I decided this was a good time. The colors looked like they matched better before I put it under the OTT lite to take a picture. After I put together the card I had a piece of paper left on my desk all cut. I looked at the card and realized I forgot to lay down one of the pieces. I didn't dare try to lift the DP knowing that it would rip so you will need to imagine the 3rd layer in the bottom right of the sketch. I will keep it to use on a later card.
The image is tall and thin which made it difficult to fit into one of my spellbinders circles so I used the scalloped which gave me more room. I'm not a person who likes alot of blank white on a card so I filled it with the saying and brads. All in all I like the way it came out.
Thank you for looking at my card. Let me know what you think.

All White
Good Morning! I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween. I had alot more kids last night than I have ever had before. I don't know if there are just more kids around or it was because it was a warm night here but I don't have much candy left which is really good!
We also turned our clocks back last night here in the states. This means we got an extra hour of sleep. I woke up early as usual and decided to use that extra hour to make this card. I found a challenge called Colour Create. This week the color was White. Your card had to be all white except the image. Instead of an image I used my spellbinders snowflakes. I also used Twinklets for the 1st time on this card. I can see how this could be addictive for winter cards. It adds more dimension than glitter but sparkles and shows up when you take a picture. I also used my new MS border snowflake punch for the snowflakes in the middle of the card. I had a 50% coupon at my LSS and thought this was a different kind of punch. I used a papershaper border punch on the bottom.
I hope you like what I created for this challenge. Let me know what you think.

Happy Hallowen....
Happy Halloween everyone! Since I won't have any time today to make any cards this will be my last Halloween card for 2009. I can't believe we are already at Halloween. The good news this year is we turn our clocks back tomorrow night so we get an extra hour of sleep!!!
I made this card for 2 challenges. The first is for Daring Cardmakers. The these was to use your latest punch purchase. Mine is the Martha Stewart Goo and Spiderweb punches. I love these 2 punches. The second challenge is for Stamp Something Challenge blog. The theme this week is Halloween.
I used Digi Stamps from the Daisie Company. The thing I like about Digi's is that you can re-size them so I was able to make the Ghost large enough to be put behind the BOO. I couldn't find the right colored flowers so I colored white ones with Copics. Making this card had me thinking back to when I first started stamping. It is amazing how far the craft has progressed (not to mention how far I have progressed). There's always something new to learn and buy. Now if I can just figure out how to stay organized.....
Well I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween. Thank you for visiting. If you like my card leave a comment. I love hearing from you.

The Little Things
I hope everyone is having a good week. It is a dark and dreary day here but it is Wednesday! Half way through the week!
I made this card for Mary Jo's Sketch challenge. In a couple of weeks I see me concentrating on XMas cards so I thought I would make some fall ones before the season is over. This stamp is from There's Magic in the Air. I always look to see what she has on her site. I like alot of her stamps. I feel like I have gone overboard with pumpkin cards this fall but when I look back I see I have not posted one in a while so I went with it. The paper is Basic Grey. I like all of the colors in the papers I picked. One of the things I really like about most of the 6 x 6 paper packs is you can usually find coordinating paper in there that you would normally not buy in 12 x 12. This is the case with the traingle piece. I never would have bought this but it is perfect for this card.

Autumn Fun, 3CTC36
Good Afternoon. I made this card for Kerry's Thursday Challenge. This weeks challenge is a sketch. I was happy to see that I could use my High Hopes Scarecrow on it. I ordered this last year but there was a mixup with my LSS order at High Hopes so I didn't get it until after Xmas. This is the 1st time it has been inked up.
Friday night I went to customer appreciation night at another one of my LSS. We are lucky here that there are multiple stores in our area in addition to Michael's and AC Moore. We all got goodie bags. One of the items in the bag was Memory box new polka dot 6 x 6 paper. I love polka dots so I was thrilled to see it in my bag. The colors are beautiful. I loved it so much I bought a 2nd package. I used the brown and green on this card.
I thought the top left corner looked blank so I dug through my embellishments. I found some leaves that I bought when a Art store was going out of business. I like when I make an impulse buy and then actually use it! I can't count how many times I buy things knowing that I will use them and then I never do.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend. It is beautiful here today. Nice day to relax and create. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you like my card.

Merry and Bright, Sugarbowl 22
Good Morning. Thanks for stopping by my blog and looking at my cards. I hope you like what I have created.
I made this card for Kathy's Sugar Bowl sketch challenge #22. I received my stamps yesterday from winning the challenge a couple weeks ago and wanted to use one on this challenge. I kept looking at them and decided on Demure. She is so darn cute! I always saw her as a summer stamp but then I thought if I colored her in red & green she would make a cute XMAS stamp so that's what I did. I have some issues coloring and blending reds for some reason. The sleeves look alot more shaded in real life.
I really wanted to color the lace red but didn't dare since I didn't have much left. If it got messed up I wouldn't have enough to finish the card today. I have a busy weekend so I really wanted to finish this and get it posted.
If you like my card please let me know. I would love to know what you think.

Beautiful Autumn, 3CTC35
Happy Tuesday! How is everyone's week going? I hope well. It's been cold here and Sunday we had snow showers again. It is unusual for us to have them this early. Does this mean we are going to have a cold, snowy winter? I hope not. I work from home so I don't have to drive through the snow in rush hour traffic anymore but I still don't like it.
I was looking through some stamps to see what I wanted to use and remembered my Just Rite Autumn stamps. I love this set. They are easy to color and you can do alot with them. It is my favorite set from Just Rite.
This weekend I picked up my gift certificate from a yard sale they had. This is the first one I have done and I didn't sell alot but I did make enough to buy this spellbinders die and an Autumn saying stamp. I guess next time I will need to mark down some stamps I wanted to sell if I want to get rid of them. The good news is that I got rid of a bunch of old stickers, paper etc. that I will never use.
I liked the way this card came out and thought I could use it for Kerry's weekly challenge. This week theme is Nature. I think this fits the category. Right?
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card. Let me know what you think.

Let it Snow, Copic Challenge 14
Good afternoon everyone. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. It's getting really cold here in New England. We had snow the other morning. Luckily it rained so it is now gone.
When I saw that the Copic challenge this week was black I thought "Oh No!!". Then I watched Suzanne Dean's video for coloring black hair and thought I would give it a try. I see so many cards made and the hair looks beautiful and I want to try and give my Sugar Nellie gals the same hair. How does this look? Opinions Please!! Too much gray? Too little gray?
This is one of the Sugar Nellie Country Cousins Holiday stamps. She was so much fun to color. I know I will be making another Xmas card with her before the end of the year. Once again I went with the new Basic Grey paper pack. I just love the color combos in this pack.
Thank you for coming by. I appreciate any feedback on my hair coloring.

Happy Haunting, TSSC 90
Good Morning. It is chilly here this week. I had to break down and turn on my heat this weekend. I woke up Sunday morning and it was only 31 degrees. I'm still not use to it. I keep running out to do errands not dressed warm enough. Winter is right around the corner. I'll be talking about snow before you know it. I hate the snow but I love making winter cards so I guess I will survive it.
I made this Halloween card for Mary Jo's sketch challenge. I still can't decide if I like it. I thought it looked plain so I added the bats and spiders but now I don't know if I should have. They seem to look out of place.
My special occasions Just Rite set came in handy for this challenge. Most stamps out today are big and I have to dig for smaller stamps. I love the MS spider web punch. I couldn't wait to use it.
I hope everyone is having a good week. Thank you for visiting my blog and looking at my cards.

Warm Winter Wishes, Sugarbowl 21
Good Morning! I made this card for the Sugarbowl challenge. This time I made it after reading the fine print. I wanted to change it up a little after following the sketch exactly with my mistake card (see previous post). I thought she looked cute cut with the Oval spellbinders die so I went with it.
I love the colors in this card. Maroon and Rose are very elegant to me and I definetly think this little lady is elegant. I added glitter to the muff, snowflakes and under her feet for snow. I really wanted to add alot more glitter but then told myself less is more. I wanted to use flowers on the corners but added the snowflakes to the middle to keep with the winter theme.
I think this was the 1st Sugar Nellie stamp I fell in love with. I didn't get it until last spring so I was excited that I had a reason to use her. I know you will see her again thoughout the winter.
Thank you for stopping by. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. I hope you like her as much as I do.

WOW! What a day!!
What a day!!! I woke up this AM thinking of all the work stuff I needed to do. It was going to be a long day. I rolled out of bed, hit the coffee button and went to my blog. I noticed alot of hits for my Sugarbowl challenge card. Since the new sketch was being released today I thought I would pop on over to see what it was. When I did I looked to see who won last weeks challenge and it was ME!!!! Needless to say my dreaded long day turned into WOW...What a day!!!!! I am so excited!!! I ordered their new XMAS stamps on Monday so they should be here tomorrow or Saturday and now I get to pick 6 more. I just keep staring at Funky Kits trying to decide what I want.
Anyway, I also decided to make a card with the new sketch but I was so excited I didn't read the fine print. It's suppose to be Xmas or Winter theme. OOOPS .......So.....I'm posting this but I will be making a new one with one of my winter / XMAS stamps. Silly me.... I really like the sketch and since I can play with SN all day long it is not a problem.
I hope everyone else is having a good day. Thank you for stopping by. Let me know what you think of my fall version of the winter challenge.

Give Thanks, Copic and Basic Grey Challenges
Good Morning! I hope everyone is have a good start to the week.
I made this card for the Copic Challenge and the Basic Grey Challenge.
The Copic Challenge was pumpkins. I keep trying different things on my pumpkins. I like the way these came out. They look much better IRL. I think these were easier than some of my other pumpkin stamps because they were smaller but practice makes perfect.
The Basic Grey Challenge was a sketch. I had problem with this one. I had every piece of orange and blue paper pulled out and finally decided on the striped and solid from the Lime Rickey pack I think. I had many papers pulled out so I'm not sure what paper came from which pack it came from.
I wanted to add a little sparkle so I painted stickles on the flowers and added some on the ivy. I folded the shutters out a little to give the card a little more dimension. Once all was done I like the way this came out. I have been trying different things to get my pictures to come out better. Please bear with me while I find the perfect solution.
Thank you for visiting my blog. If you like my card let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Peggy

Happy Birthday Chris, FSS Challenge
Good Morning. It is a dull day in New England. We had rain yesterday and all night. Today is cloudy and gray. Usually on days like this I don't want to do anything but sit on the couch and watch TV but today I seem to want to get things done. YEAH!!
I needed to finish this card for my friend Chris. Her Birthday is this week and I was one pearl short! I finally found the correct size pearl yesterday so I can mail this tomorrow. I started working with Chris 25 years ago. She was layed off about 10 years ago but we have remained friends. She is my Spa buddy. Our Birthday's are a month apart and when we turned 40 we started celebrating by going to a spa and before or after we go for a nice meal. We don't live really close to each other so we don't get the chance to see each other often. I look forward to our visits.
She also loves getting my cards. She tells me every year that she keeps all the cards I send her so I always try to make something I think she will really appreciate. This year I went with the Digi Set by Fred She Said. I love her stamps. She makes the most beautiful flowers. This set of flowers came with frames to be pierced. I am always drawn to piercing. I'm not sure why but I like it. It took me a few trys to figure out what scissors worked best to cut out the frames. Cutting things out is not something I am good at. I inked up the edges to hide my mistakes. The flowers are Asters and I don't know if they come in pastels but I wanted this card soft of feminine so I went with it.
I also just figured out when I went to get the FSS link to put in the post that she is having a contest! YEAH!! I would love to win this and without even knowing it I have the card made! Maybe a good sign...Hmmmm....
I hope you all are having a great weekend. I hope you like my card.

I'm Sorry, TSSC89
Good Afternoon! I hope everyone is having a good week. The weather is beautiful here. I love this time of year.
I received this image from my friend Kerry. I love the Motivet stamps. They are so cute. I really like the Hippo. I couldn't decide what to put as a saying. Everytime I look at her I think of something else. It especially reminds me of a little kid trying to soften you up after they do something wrong so I put I'm Sorry. I colored her yesterday and was happy to see that I could use it for Mary Jo's sketch challenge. The DP is my favorite from the Basic Grey's Fall package.
I wanted to do something a little more than just a scallop so I added the Spellbinders ribbon circle. This dressed up the card a little so I then added the pearls. When I was finished I thought it looked plain so I added the ribbon and spellbinders swirls. I was going to add flowers but that was getting a little too much away from the sketch. Everytime I look over at the card today I smiled so I know I did something right with it.
I hope this card makes you smile too. Thank you for stopping by. Let me know what you think.

Furry Friends, Sugar Bowl Challenge 20
Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here!
It's Sugar Nellie's Sugar Bowl challenge day! I love the sketches those wonderful ladies pick out. The addition this time was to paper piece on the image. I wanted to use greens on this card but I couldn't find any good paper to use so I went with one of my favorite paper packs from Stampin Up. I love the Blue and Brown together.
I love these Fall Home Grown stamps. They are so fun to play with. I had not thought to paper piece with them but I like how it looks! I will be doing this again!
I realized as I am getting ready to post that I didn't put a saying on this card. I never forget that and now I don't know where to put it. Hmmm...I guess this will be one of those cards that I add the saying later to fit the occasion I will be using it for.
I don't have alot of time to post so I will keep it short. Thank you for visiting. I hope you like my card. Let me know what you think.

Happy Halloween
Good afternoon. I hope everyone is having a good week. Mine is okay so far. I hope it continues that way.
I made this card for Mary Jo's sketch challenge and Basic Grey's challenge. It looked like a fun sketch. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. I love embossing of any kind so when I saw that Basic Grey's was to emboss it was an easy decision to join the fun.
This is my first Halloween card for 2009. I bought the Basic Grey pack and I love the papers. I couldn't wait to use them. I don't have many Halloween stamps so I was limited with what I can do right now. I glittered the spiders so they would show up better and give the card some sparkle. This is the first time I tried moving the Nesties around to get points instead of scallops on the circles. It is so easy. I love it. All you need to do is cut the scallop and then move the die so it cuts in the middle of one of the scallops and you get points. Don't you love the creative people who come up with these things!
I hope this card looks brighter to you than me. For some reason when I attached it the picture looks darker than I thought. Maybe it's just my computer or my new glasses I just picked up this AM.
Thank you for looking at my card. Let me know what you think!

Happy Birthday Mom
Good Morning. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. It is starting to get cold here in the Northeast. It was 37 degrees when I woke up this AM. It is suppose to warm up to the low 70's later which is my perfect type of weather.
My Mothers Birthday is next week and this is the card I made her. I originally had something else in the middle but then when I stamped MOM on it I got a big black line across the image and had to throw it out. I had seen a new set of digi stamps from Fred-She-Said that I wanted so I bought them and used one of the images on this card. I love the flowers from Fred-She-Said but many of them require cutting out and I am not good at that. I am going to try to cut out the paper piercing templates that came with this set for a friends birthday card. Wish me luck.
I also used an Outlines stamp on this card. I was cleaning out my stamps to figure out what I wanted to sell at a yard sale one of my LSS is having and saw this. I have always loved this stamp and decided to use it on this card. I love the way this came out. I hope my Mother likes it too.

It's almost Pumpkin time, TSSC87
When I saw Mary Jo's sketch this week I didn't have any idea what I would do. I found this Class Act Pumpkin stamp and thought it would be fun to color.
After I colored it I couldn't find any DP to match. Then I got my weekly email from
D.A.I.S.I.E. . Every week their newsletter has something free to download. Sometimes it is a stamped image, sometimes things like candy bar wrappers and this week it was free Digi Paper. I thought this might work for my pumpkins and I think it does. I also decided that I wanted to use a stamp I bought at a convention (can't remember from who) that you cut the middle out and run ribbon through it. I bought a few of these but this is the first time I have used one. I'll have to remember the witches hat when I get to doing Halloween cards.
As you probably know I like to put sayings on my cards. I ran out of space on this one and decided just to stamp a little stamp saying "a happy hello". Unfortunetly I obviously didn't mount it straight so it's crooked and as usual with small letters sometimes they don't stamp evenly. Other than that I really like this card.
Thank you for stopping by. Let me know what you think.

Have a sunshiny day!
Happy Sunday everyone! Last week was a long one and I am glad it is over. Hopefully this week won't be as crazy. After laundry, grocery shopping and some cleaning I hope to get some stamping in today. Yesterday Mary and I went to our LSS store to pick up the latest Basic Grey packs. Tim Holtz was there giving a class so we got to see him as a little added bonus to our shopping. When I got home yesterday I told myself not to do any stamping until I picked up my stamping area. I couldn't find anything it was so messy. After that I just got lazy and did a little coloring but not much else.
I saw this stamp a few weeks ago and thought it was a really pretty Sunflower. I colored it with my copics and then thought it needed something else so I put glitter in the middle and put some smooch on the the sunflowers. This is the first time I have used the smooch. I think it gives a little more depth then shimmerz (not that I still don't love my shimmerz). I think they may compliment each other well.
I bought the new Card Maker magazine and saw a card with this layout and thought it fit well with this stamp. There was a similar sample at the LSS using this stamp. I used my tonic punch for the decorative edge. I couldn't find any good small words for the card and it bothered me that the card didn't lay flat when closed so I came up with putting the circle on the side and I punched some additional triangles, cut them out and added them to the circle to use for the card closure. I really like the way it came out.
Thank you for coming by. If you like this card as much as I do please let me know.

My Friend, Sugar Nellie Challenge #19
Good Afternoon! I hope everyone is having a good week. I have been really busy at work because I am filling in for someone on vacation. I woke up really early this AM and couldn't get back to sleep. I saw that Sugar Nellie posted their new challenge so I thought might as well make good use out of the time! This challenge was to follow the sketch and use Pink and Brown.
I fell in love with this Sugar Nellie Home Grown stamp. It is different than any other winter stamps I have. When I saw the layout of the challenge I knew I had to use it. I also knew that I could use my new spellbinders die. I thought it looked plain when I cut it out so I ran it though my snowflake cuttlebug folder. I couldn't decide what to do with the middle of the circle so I layed the snowflakes out that were sitting on my table from punching the bottom of the card. As you can see they also made it on to the sky above image. I know those who know me are shocked that I didn't make a blue cloudy sky as I seem to do on just about every image. I liked it plain and then thought that when it snows the sky is white, not blue so it looked "normal" white.
I didn't have any snowflakes to put in the bottom right of the card so I used the biggest snowflake punch I have, which is still small, and layered them for the embelleshment. It's winter so I had to make snow for the ground. I decided to use glitter for it. I also glittered her pom pom.
I hope you like my card. Let me know what you think.

My Little Red Wagon, TSSC86
Good Morning. I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. Mine was great. I got a couple of cards made this weekend. Not as many as I had planned but it was beautiful here and there was too much to do. I also got some work done on my XMAS cards. This happens every year. I plan out the card and get motivated to work on them in the summer but then they sit there and I loose interest. It doesn't help that since I don't have many to make I tend to make a card that has alot of steps.
I bought this Judikins stamp last year at a convention. I have used it before but never put anything in it. This time I decided to put apples in it for Fall. I have a Stampin Up set that has apples in a bucket. I just cut them out and taped them in the wagon. I cut out a couple of stray apples the stamp had and popped them up on the grass. The reds I used on the apples and the wagon were different and they didn't look good together so I put crystal effects on the apples to make them look good enough to eat. I made this card for Mary Jo's Monday Challenge. The only thing I don't like about it is the grass. I should have colored it in instead of stamping it.
I hope everyone has a great short week. I'm filling in for someone who is on vacation at work so mine will be busy.

Welcome Fall, Copic Creations Challenge 11
Good Afternoon! It's a beautiful day here in the Northeast. While my sister and I were out today we noticed that some of the leaves on the trees have started to change colors. A true sign of Fall.
I made this card for the Copic Creations #11 challenge. The challenge was to use your favorite color combinations. I love blue and anything but I find myself always reaching for the softer colors with the darker accents. Since we are approaching Fall I thought I would use some of the less pastel pinks and blues with the maroon accents colors and papers.
The sponser for this weeks challenge is Mo's Digital Pencil. I don't own any so I wasn't able to use one with this challenge but I was looking through her store and she has some wonderful images.
I didn't own alot of copics last fall so I am looking forward to using different combinations this year.

Pumpkin Patch, TSSC85
I just received my new Fall Just Rite stamps and couldn't wait to play with them. I decided that this would be a great image to use for Mary Jo's sketch challenge. This weeks sketch looked easy until I tried to think about what to do. The new stamps came just in time and solved my problem.
I'm ready to move on to the new season here. The weather has finally dried out a bit and I can shut off my AC and open the windows. The only bad thing is that it is getting darker much earlier.
I like this set. It has Fall and Thanksgiving stamps. I find myself having a hard time with Fall cards for some reason. This year I have bought some sets that are not just leaves and with the copics I should have an easier time coloring the images that I have so I am looking forward to jumping in and starting the season.
I have one more Summer card that I haven't finished and I have a bunch of Fall Birthday's also so that should help if I find myself in a slump.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like my version of the sketch.

Sending Happy Thoughts
Good Morning! I'm back to work today. It's was a nice vacation but now I need to earn a living so I can continue to afford to buy all my new stamping toys! It's amazing to me how much is out there and how I need it all!
Here is another adorable Sugar Nellie girl. I love the colors in this card. Tomorrow is September 1st and when I pick up an image to color I am starting to think primary colors instead of all pastels. When I was looking at my Copic chart trying to decide what colors to use I went to my papers first. I usally don't do this because it backfires on me. I pick out paper that I think will go perfectly and then once I start coloring and blending my colors on the images end up not matching. I was please to see it worked out well this time.
I love all the Basic Grey 6 x 6 packs. Using these papers has expanded my comfort zone. The papers I used on this card are not papers I would have been drawn to if I was buying individual 12 x 12 sheets. I have alot of 12 x 12 paper but I always go to my 6 x 6 packs first. I wish everyone would make small packs. It is much easier to go through the larger paper to find what you want.
Thank you for stopping by my blog. I hope you like my card.

Dog Day's of Summer
Happy Saturday. It's a rainy day here in the Northeast. A good day to stay inside and stamp. My vacation is over tomorrow and I am looking at the list of all the things I wanted to get done this week. I didn't get a lot off the list. Oh well...Vacations are for rest and relaxation, not to do lists. One of the things on my list was to make some progress on my XMAS cards. I did get some of that done. By the end of the weekend I hope to get all the coloring done. I see that moving to the top of the list.
This is a Whippersnapper stamp I bought a while ago. Now that Summer is winding down I was looking through my stamps to see what reminded me of Summer to use before I move on to Fall stamps. This was one that I wanted to use. I love the simplicity of the stamp. It was fun to color but I'm not sure I love the card. I don't know why though.
I have another Summer card I am working on and then I will be all about the leaves. I'm ready for Fall. I'm ready to use the golden yellow, red and orange copics.
I hope everyone has a good weekend. Thanks for coming by.

Windy Days
If you follow my blog you know I love the Sugar Nellie stamps. The new fall set is literally in the mail. Since I was out of town and didn't bring my laptop, I had my sister watching for the release and she had all my info to place the order ASAP. I can't wait to get them!!! They are soooo cute. I'm getting into the fall mode and I know I will have alot of fun coloring the images.
I decided that since I love them so much I should do the Sugarbowl challenges. Their sketches always have layers, which I love and I look at the very talented people that participate and I wanted to play.
This was a sketch challenge and you needed to use buttons. Isn't this little girl cute standing in the wind? I thought this was adorable and I could do alot with her. I used some Basic Grey paper and button brads. I hope the button brads fit the button criteria of the challenge. It also gave me a good reason to use a new spellbinders die I bought yesterday. I thought it needed some dressing up so I added the pearls and the pearlized stickles. I folded the corner to keep with the sketch but thought it still needed something so I added the bow and the pearl.
As I uploaded the picture I can't see all the glitter but I stickled the "wind", flowers on the image and the silk flowers on the card.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you like my card.

Seeds of Friendship
Good Afternoon! I'm back from my mini vacation up North. It was great to get away. Other than all the rain we had Sunday afternoon it was a great weekend. I hope to get alot of creating done with the balance of the week I have off. Today I have spent the AM relaxing and making this card. This afternoon I have to spend unpacking, running some errands and laundry. Tomorrow my sister Mary and I are going on a roadtrip to a scrapbook store that isn't near our houses so we only get there a couple of times a year. The balance of the week is a combo of stamping and other things I have been putting off doing (hopefully more stamping than the other things).
I made this card for Mary Jo's sketch challenge. Sometimes the easy sketches turn out to be the hardest. Luckily this one was easy for me. Since I didn't have a turtle saying I decided to focus on the flowers he is holding. Once I did that the rest came together pretty easily. I also decided not to blend as much as I usually do. A card can look great until I take a picture then you don't see the muliple colors because I blended too much and there isn't enough contrast. I like the result. Do you?
I hope everyone is having a good week. If you like my card let me know.

AAHH, Summertime
Anyone living in the Northeast knows that it has been Hot and Humid lately. I don't like it. We live closed up with the heat on in the winter. I don't like when I have to close the house up for AC in the summer to be comfortable.
Anyway, enough complaining. When I was looking though my stamps to see what inspired me, this little guy was it. This is one of the free High Hopes stamps I got with my last order. Laying around in an inner tube on the water with a glass of lemonade looked really good to me. It also let me use one of my sunglass brads I bought last year. I love the brads but they never seem to look right on any cards I made. I think it is cute on this card. I added crystal effects to the lemonade and to his glasses to make them look more realistic. I also put glitter on the water to make it glisten. Once I had finished the card I didn't like the empty spaces between the oval and circle die cuts. The dew drops added just enough to the space without making it too busy. I like how the card ended up.
This will be my last post for a few days. Tomorrow I am heading up to the White Mountains in NH for a little R&R. I can't wait. It is beautiful up there. I have a few images colored but have not had the time to make a card. I will be doing that when I get back and will be posting them. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like my card.

This is the last Birthday card I need to make for about 6 weeks. This one is for my Nephew Bryan. I really wanted to make something different but I have so much trouble with cards for men.
I really like the colors I used for this. I wanted to put something in the pocket. I thought money would be good because that is what I always give him but the colors didn't match and, let's face it, it's all about the card looking good. I then put the paper in to look like a hankerchief but it looked too clean so I crumbled it up and then put it in again. I like the touch of red on the card.
I embossed the light blue to give it a little more texture and then put my corners on it to do something other than just brads. The layout was just a fluke. I put the card down and it wasn't taped yet. The bottom square moved and I like it so I kept it that way.
My next birthday card is for a good friend of mine. She will be much easier! Lot's of choices and you can always fill it up with flowers and bling!
I hope everyone is having a great week. It is so hot here but I shouldn't complain when the news is filled with storms.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like my card.
Peggy
