Watermelon anyone, 3CTC24

It seems like the weeks these days are just flying by. I have not had a chance to participate in Kerry's Thursday challenge in a while and when I saw this weeks theme I thought it sounded fun, especially because of the humid weather we have been having lately. I bought these watermelon stamps from Yvonne Albritton Designs last year and she sent me the saying for free. I think it is great when a company does that. It really says they want their customers to be happy.

I was itching to try my new spellbinders pendant dies so naturally I worked them into this card. The pendant is square so I had to modify it by cutting the smaller die in half and adding them to the sides to make it a rectange to fit my image. These were a little frustrating at 1st to get the paper out of the dies but I found that if you take something thin (I used the spatula that I use for my embossing paste) and slide it under the middle of the big die you can work the paper out. For the smaller die I used the pen I bought to pick up crystals. The pen has a putty in it so stick so it pulls up the paper. I'm probably not explaining it right but at least I won't pass using the dies because they are difficult.

I covered the watermelon's with crystal effects and then I cut out one of the slices and popped it up. I had some white dots from Joannes and added them to the corners instead of brads. Sometimes I find brad bend DP so these worked out better.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm off to do a couple of errands and then I will be back to finish another card I have been working on.

I hope you like my challenge card. Thanks for stopping by.
