TSSC # 54

Thank you Kristen for asking me to participate in Mary Jo's sketch challenge. I loved the sketch and had alot of fun making the card. I can't wait to see the next one. There are alot of talented ladies participating in these challenges. I suggest you check out Mary Jo's blog to see how everyone else interpreted the sketch. Thanks to Mary Jo for hosting these and letting me participate.

I started this card Wednesday. I was trying to figure out what stamp to use while I was watching it snow outside. I decided that I wanted to Think Spring, not Winter. This is a new Whipper Snapper stamp I had received recently. I thought a Frog dressed in a coat that looked like a ladybug expressed my feelings perfectly. Isn't he cute! My memento ink pad needs to be re-inked and I currently don't have a re-inker for it and I wanted the color to be dark black so I embossed. Unfortunetly this means I could not use copics to color. I colored the Coat with Red and blue shimmerz but didn't have the right colors for the rest. Going through my stash of supplies I found some glitter markers for the frog and shoes.

I went through every piece of Red DP I had and none of it matched the SU Real Red so I went with the simple white background with a cuttlebug folder. I think I need to carry a piece of Real Red CS with me so I can match it up when I go to my LSS.

I hope you enjoy the card as much as I enjoyed making it. Happy Friday everyone!!!

Happy Early Valentines Day!

Well, here I sit watching it snow AGAIN! I am really sick of this weather. I'm beginning to wonder if Spring is every going to get here.

It's been a week. I am swamped at work, my niece got layed off yesterday which has me upset because she is upset and I still sit here wondering what will happen with my company. And it's only Wednesday! Please someone do something to fix this economy!!

Enough whining! This weekend I was trying to figure out what stamps I wanted to play with. I'm getting tired of snowmen, snowflakes etc so I started looking at other stamps. I am not a big Valentines Day person so I never gravitate to Hearts but I do like this stamp and thought I should make a Valentines Day card (not sure what I am going to do with it though). I just bought this Basic Gray paper and also wanted to use that so.....This is the result. I like the way it came out. I forgot I had this saying and I like to put something other than "Happy Valentines Day" so it all worked out.

I hope you are all having a good week! Thanks for visiting! I hope you enjoy my card.

Snowflake Glitter

I made this snowflake a few weeks ago and couldn't figure out what to do with it. Today I decided it was now or never. It's one of those cards that you figure will just come together and then....well it doesn't look like what you had in mind. I first decided it was too plain so I started with the cuttlebug folders. Then I thought too much Ballet Blue so I cut it up. Then I decided it needed more pink so I used the snowflake punch. When I was done I realized I not place to put a word. Oh Well...

I had a crazy week and didn't get a chance to do any stamping or cardmaking. Maybe I just need to get my mojo back. Yesterday I had to work and I started pulling out stuff for Taxes so today is the 1st day I have had to play. I don't need clean clothes or clean house! I did go and buy grocercies though. I figure I do need to eat!

I hope you like it. I hope to have more time to stamp this week and will be posting again soon!

Thanks for looking!

Friends

While it was snowing on Sunday I decided to play with one of my new Whipper Snapper stamps. I really like these little guys. I decided to finish the card at lunch today instead of eating. I look at it as a card making diet. Of course I'll eat everything in site tonight. Oh well, I got the card done! Isn't that the important thing!

I thought the saying was appropriate being inauguration day. It's also one of my favorites from a CTMH set.

Well I only have a couple minutes to post before my next meeting so I'll keep this short. I hope you like these guys as much as I do.

Let it Snow

Well it has finally stopped snowing here. Now we have a little window before storm #2 comes. I had plans to get together with some friends today but the plans got pushed out (for the 2nd time) because of today's weather. At this rate we won't be exchanging XMAS presents until July.

Since my plans were cancelled I finished this snowman card. I was having a hard time with the hat because everything looked steaky so I bought some Coal shimmerz. Not perfect but better than the other things I tried. I like how the card ended up. This was one of the High Hopes stamps I bought last month. I like his face. I really enjoyed making this. I hope you like him too.

Shimmerz

Good Morning! Well it's another cold day here with more snow expected tomorrow. Ususally the same weather all the time gets boring but when it's cold and snow it just gets old.

I ventured out bought some new colors of Shimmerz the other day and wanted to use them. I pulled out some no name stickers I bought at a convention last year and colored them in. You can't see it on the card but the outline stickers a holographic and with the shimmerz the card looks elegant to me. I decided that I would then continue and use the peel off stickers for the saying also. This is the 1st card in a long time I have made using no stamps! I sometimes forget that it can be done.

Have a good day everyone! Thank for looking and I hope you like my card.

Thinking of You

I was looking for a stamp the other day and saw my mouse stamps from Ann-ticipations and this one called out to me! I love these little guys. I also wanted to use my new nestie label II set so it all worked out. When I was looking for a saying I saw this one and thought perfect! I love when everything just falls into place and when the card gets put together you look at it and smile. This is a very simple card but I like the way it came out. I hope you do also. Thank you for looking.

Stamps: Ann-ticipations, Denandi Designs, CTMH

Yesterday I came home and swore I was going to clean the house. Well, needless to say, I should never start in my craft room. I decided to play with brass stencils and paste. I hope this card looks okay when I post because it looks a little washed out on my computer. In real life it is really cute. After the paste dried I painted with shimmerz. I stamped the background and highlighted in shimmerz.

I hope you enjoy this card. Have a wonderful day!!!

Here's another card I made while in VT. I thought it would make a good after the holiday's card. Rest, Relax, and enjoy. I'm posting this one because after 1 1/2 weeks vacation I am very, very busy this week at work! I would like to be her right now. Maybe this weekend while we suffer through another snowstorm!

I hope everyone had a good week. Thanks for looking! I don't have time to look up all the supplies I used on this one. Sorry....I'll have more time this weekend.

Let It Snow

Well, another Snowy, Icy day in the Northeast. These are the Winters that I really wonder if we will ever see Spring.

I was going through some cards and found some that I made when we went to Vermont for the weekend that I still had not sent out so thought I would post them over the next few days. This one was with my 2 favorite SU colors, Bashful Blue & Orchid Opulence. They go together so well. I used the same stamp that I used when making Mary's Birthday card I posted earlier. I hope you like it. Stay warm and dry!

Stamps: Inkadinkado & TAC

Happy Birthday Mary

My sister Mary's Birthday is this week and I gave her this card yesterday. She loves snowmen and I was thinking I never use them on her Birthday card so I did this year. I really liked the color combination. I used my speckling brush and shimmerz to see if I could create a sparkle around the snowman. It wasn't the effect I was trying to achieve but it didn't come out bad. I am still trying to learn how to control the speckling.

Supplies:
Stamps: Inkadinkado, Clear Arts Stamps
CS: SU Bravo Burgandy, Bashful Blue
DP: Kelly Panacci
Embelleshments: Dew drops, SU Brads, Felt snowflakes & Ribbon (can't remember who makes either).

Thanks for looking. I hope you like the card and have a wonderful day.

Shimmerz

I love Shimmerz! I seem to reach for it before I reach for glitter which is hugh for me. I used a Stampers Anonymous stamp and embossed. After that I used different color shimmerz on the diamonds. You can't see the shimmery look on my scan but it really pops in real life. The saying is from Hero Arts and DP is SU.

I hope everyone had a good New Years! Mine was quiet and Snowy but it was nice to have dinner with some family members. I was extremly lazy yesterday and spent today shopping at my LSS and having lunch with my sister. I was really good and only spent $8.00 of my $25.00 gift certificate I got for XMAS. I'm sure it will not be long before I spend the rest.

Have a wonderful day! Happy New Years!!
