Happy Easter

It's a dark and dreary day here today so I decided to post a bright card. This is one the of cards I made for Easter. I love ducks!

I colored the duck and flowers with shimmerz so the card is bright IRL. I bought this duck a while ago but this was the 1st time I had used it. It was sitting here colored but I was waiting for the spring DP to come out so I could find some with bright yellow in it. I was happy when I found the stripes. The yellow in it is not really bright but it is a real yellow where most of the papers had yellow with an orange base.

I glittered the brads too so they would pop and go with the duck and yellow CS. I hope this card makes you smile and brightens your day! Thanks for visiting!

HB Kerry

I hope everyone is having a good Saturday. I went to visit my sister and then we went to lunch with her daughter. It was fun. Now I'm back home to get the boring stuff done like laundry, dusting etc. The nice thing is that is is sunny and kindof warm here - 58 degrees! I have my door open and it is really nice to have some fresh air in the house. I only have a small patch of snow left on the ground. I am so happy to see it gone.

I made this card for Kerry's Birthday Challenge. My friend Michelle lent me some of her Whipper Snapper stamps and 2 were Birthday stamps so it was perfect. Kerry wanted the card to be purple (not a problem) and it has to have Glitter on it (again, no problem!).

I hope you like the card. I had alot of fun making this one.

Good Afternoon.....I hope everyone is having a great Thursday. I am happy to say I am swamped at work!!!! I thought I needed a little break and this card has been done, I just had not had time to post it.

I made this card for Mary Jo's sketch challenge. I had just received this new paper from CTMH and couldn't wait to use it. I love the colors in it. Luckily it came as a kit and I have alot of it to use in the future.

Well I started writing this post an hour ago and keep getting distracted so I am going to keep it short and post.

Have a great day. Thanks for visiting.

Spring is Here

You wouldn't know the Calendar says Spring today. It is only 31 degrees outside. BRRR...The good news is that it isn't snowing.

I made this card for Kerry's Thursday challenge. I have so much old DP and this forced me to use it. I always go with the newer paper when making a card. I used a piece of paper (Melissa Frances with flowers) that I bought just because I thought it was pretty and a piece of paper from Paper Pizazz that was in a book of coordinating paper that is suppose to look like leather. I thought when I bought the book that I would be using it all the time but it never seems to fit or match other papers I was using so I still have the whole book. When I saw the challenge I thought of this book and wanted to find a way to use some of it.

I didn't want to just put the Nestie circle in the middle of the card so I cut the circle in half and put on each side of the strip. I like how it came out. I still love using nesties but I am trying to find more creative ways to use them.

I hope everyone is having a great Monday. Thanks for looking.

TGIF!!!!! What a week I have had.

Monday - Started filling in for someone who was on vaca this week.

Tuesday - Company had a layoff. My boss, who only calls me seldomly, left me a message to call him at an extention at corporate (he doesn't work out of that office). I thought this was it for me. After 29 1/2 years (to the day) I was getting layed off. I started shaking, crying and dialed the #. Needless to say he wasn't thinking and he was just calling me to fill me in on some biz issues. He freaked me out and then I freaked him out (he hates it when I get upset and cry). Anyway, I am still employed. YEAH!!!

Wednesday - In addition to my job, the responsibilities of the person on vaca, I inherited the job of someone who got layed off. Now I am doing 3 full time jobs this week in addition to all the phone calls of people comparing names of the people who got layed off and congrats for still being here.

Thursday - Spent the day trying to catch up from the insanity of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Friday - Thankful I have a job. Trying to regroup. Looking forward to the weekend.

Last night I got to thinking that I haven't done any cards and I really needed a break so I started working on Mary Jo's sketch challenge which I honestly didn't think I would be participating in this week. I like the MFT stamps. I had bought this stamp last year but never used it. It was so much fun playing with a new set.

I hope you like the card and thanks for visiting!

Happy St Patty's Day

Happy early St. Patty's Day! I hope everyone is having a good Monday.

There are so many cute St. Patty's Day stamps out there but I tend not to buy them because I don't make many St Patty's cards. I was at Joann's one day and they had a set in their value section so I bought it. This is one of the stamps from that set. I love the DP with the glitter too.

Well I hope everyone has some Luck of the Irish tomorrow. Especially me! Rumor is that tomorrow is RIF (reduction in force) day at work and I need all the luck I can muster.

Inspired

It's a beautiful sunny day here in the Northeast. Looking outside makes me wish for Spring once more. Enough with the teasing....I want Spring to arrive!

This card is for Kerry's inspiration challenge. Needless to say the colors are what inspired me. They just jumped out when I looked at the picture. I didn't have the neon colors in the picture so I used the brightest colors I had. I couldn't find a stamp that I felt I could color or have the copics to match so I looked for something I just needed to stamp. I thought this Just Rite set was appropriate. These are not colors I ever put together. I only use orange in the fall and usually just use Only Orange at Halloween. It was fun to go way outside of my comfort zone.

I hope everyone is having a good day! Thank you for visiting.

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's a bright sunny day here. Now if it would just get warmer and all the snow would melt.

At first I had problems with Mary Jo's sketch but then I found this image I colored last year with chalk (remember when....) and thought it would work. I like the way it came out. I like all the blue.... I will need to pull out this stamp and color it with my copics. I bet this would be a good image to use.

I hope you enjoy my card! Let me know what you think.

It's all about the Green!

I made this card for Kerry's Thursday Challenge. This week it was a card that Green was the main color and you needed to use 3 embellishments

I'm 100% Irish but don't like the color green. I don't wear green, the only green in my house are plants, and if you notice green is only an accent color on my cards so this was very difficult for me. I have another St Patty's day card to post but I didn't really think it was primarily green so I didn't use it for this challenge.

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday. I have spend much of the day getting ready for my nephew to paint my dinning room and kitchen. The good news is it is a really nice day out. I was actually warm while washing the walls so I opened my windows. I loved being able to do that!

It's actually a good thing for me to be so busy. My company is doing a layoff sometime in the next 2 weeks and I am so nervous. It is so stressful! I pray I am just being paranoid but I just can't get it out of my mind.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card. I hope you like it.

Happy Tuesday everyone. Unlike the last 2 day's it is nice and sunny here. I am sooo sick of the snow. I can't wait for the 1st day I can shut off my heat and open my windows! I love those days that it is not too hot and humid and I can open every window in my house and just enjoy the weather. Unfortunetly in the Northeast we don't get alot of those. Maybe this summer......

Here is my card for Mary Jo's sketch challenge. This one was easy. I found this $1 stamp from Michaels and thought it would work well with the card I had in mind. I'm trying not to get into flowers too early and then be sick of flowers by June. I pulled out some more SU DP I got last week and the card just put itself together. I also used some great white paper from Gina K. that my friend Pia sent me to try. Thank you Pia! I love the paper!
