Ruff Day

Happy Sunday. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. It is absolutely beautiful here today.

It's been a while since I have posted. I have been really busy at work and just have not had time to sit down and put together a post. I also have not had any time to make new cards so I looked to see what I had left from VT. I thought that after a rough week this Ruff Day card was appropriate. The Dog is one of my High Hopes stamps. I just thought he was so cute. The Ruff Day I borrowed from Mary and don't remember who makes it. That's the fun thing about getting together with other people when making cards. They may have what you don't to finish a card. The paws I found in my misc pile of buttons.

I hope to find some time to put together some cards. I have a few colored images now I just need to figure out what to do with them.

Black, White, Yellow

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was wonderful. It's always nice to have a 3 day weekend. I got my planting done, spent some time with family, and relaxed. The weather wasn't bad either. Yesterday it was dry and in the 70's. My perfect day! Not too hot to go outside and warm enough to wear a t-shirt and shorts.

I think we need more holiday's. The next one isn't until July.

Summer in the Northeast has officially begun. When I was planting this weekend I was dodging the bees so this card is appropriate for Kerry's Thursday Challenge. Her Challenge was Black, White and one more color. As you can see I picked yellow.

I love this daisy stamp set from SU. It's easy to mask and put as many flowers as you want on the card. It is also easy because you can keep the daisy's white and glitter the center like I did with this card. When I found the corner bee stamp I thought it would work with this. The toughest thing with this card was what to put in the corner. Nothing seemed to work then I bought these black flowers and found my solution.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you like my card.

TSSC 70

TGIF!!!!! It's Friday of a long weekend YEAH!! It's is suppose to be beautiful this weekend. Not Hot and Humid like it was yesterday and suppose to be today.
I hope to relax, plant some flowers and make some cards. Right now I don't have alot planned which should give me plenty of time to do anything I want.

I made this card for Mary Jo's sketch challenge. It's not often that I use all paper on a card. I kept thinking that this card was missing something and when I pulled out the sentiment I realized that I didn't stamp on the card. I can't remember the last time that happened.

I love the colors and pattern of this Basic Gray paper. I love the 6 x 6 packs. They always contain paper that I may not have picked in the 12 x 12 but I find I like.

Well, got to get back to work. I thought it would be a slow week but that's not the way it turned out. Maybe it will slow down this afternoon.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday weekend. Thanks for visiting.

Flowers and Butterflies

Good Morning....It's a chilly one here in the Northeast. It was 39 degrees when I got up this AM. I'm not going to complain though because by the end of the week it's going to be in the 80's. I'm not ready for the Hot and Humid weather yet.

Kerry's challenge this week was Flowers. My first thought was "this is easy". I went through some of my new stamps that I wanted to play with and the one that I wanted to use didn't have flowers. Luckily there's only a few stamps that don't go with flowers so....

This is another Sugar Nellie. Don't worry, for those of you who don't love Sugar Nellie, my next 2 cards are not made using them. I just thought she was so cute with the butterflies and I bought a new butterfly punch at CK that I really wanted to play with so it just seemed natural that she needed to be inked up. The top 2 layered butterflies were punched using the MS punches. The butterflies at the bottom was made using the Tonic punch system. I have seen the tonic punches at various conventions but really didn't know if I wanted it and no one was demoing it for me to try. Saturday there was some punches to try so I got to play a little. I still didn't know if it would be one of those things I would buy and never use. It was the one thing I bought at the convention that I still debated about when I got home. Now I am really glad I bought it. I am still playing to get it to align the way I want but I really like how it looks on this card.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Sending Hugs

Good Morning!

Is everyone having a good Weekend? Mary and I went to the CK convention yesterday. It was surprisingly good. The last few years we have not been impressed. We picked up alot of Basic Gray 6 x 6 packs, copics, punches and a few stamps. The Heirloom convention is coming up in a few weeks. I really enjoy these conventions but I wish they were spread out a little more.

This is another Sugar Nellie card I made while in VT. She is called Pen Pal. I think she looks sweet. My friend Kristen thinks she looks like a rocker girl.

I'm trying not to use the same color on all of the Jeans. I like the Yellow and Green combination on this one. I was happy to see that Just Rite released this set because I thought that Sending Hugs was a cute sentiment to go with her. As usual, I used the cloud template.

Well, I promised myself I would clean the house today but so far I have had my coffee, gotten dressed and worked on a card. What can I say, I have a new Sugar Nellie I really wanted to play with and I wanted to use my new punch. Luckily it's still early.....There is still hope for a cleaner house.

Thanks for stopping by. Let me know what you think.

Daisy

Good Afternon. I hope everyone is having a good week. Mine is busy. I guess that is good but doesn't leave alot of card making time.

This is Daisy from my Sugar Nellie stamps. Isn't she cute? She is definetly one of my favorites! I bought the swirls from Spellbinders. I don't know if I like them or not on this card. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to use them. I have seen some wonderful things other people have done.

I stamped her on some new beige paper I bought that I was told works well with copics. I picked out the DP 1st and when I saw it was beige, not white I was happy I had bought it. Even with everything going on with this card I think you would notice the color differences.

Well I don't have alot of time right now so I hope you like the card and thanks for visiting.

Happy Mothers Day, 3CTC12

Happy Mothers Day to everyone. I hope everyone had a good day.

I made this card for my Mother and Kerry's Thursday Challenge. I put ribbon on just about every card I make so it was easy. When Mary and I took a Rubber Stamp Tapestry class they show us a very pretty technique using their lace stamps that I used on this card. All you need to do is stamp the lace with Colorbox ink and then take a sponge or cottonball and go over it with a different color chalk for a 2 tone look.

I love this flower stamp from SU. You almost can't make a bad card with it. The hardest part of this was trying to figure out what saying to put inside. I always spend alot of time searching for the perfect saying.

I also love this DP. The problem is that once I open the packs they go in with all my other 6 x 6 and I can't remember which pack this came from. I really need to be better about organizing my paper packs. I will put it on my list when I get around to organizing (HA!).

Meet Tink

Good Morning everyone! The weekend has finally arrived!!! I'm sitting here having my coffee then my sister Mary is coming over and we are heading to our LSS to pick up something she forgot to get the other day. I am then coming home to finish my Mothers Day card. A nice relaxing day.

Meet Tink. Isn't he cute! He's one of the High Hopes stamps I ordered. The minute I saw him I thought he would look cute with black (they call it coal) shimmerz. I find that it comes out better if I color it with black marker first to get a really dark black. I did the background with my cloud maker. It is probably the best thing I have ever bought at a convention. Usually I go to these things and see people making the most wonderful cards and they make it look so easy. I then buy whatever they are selling and can't make it work when I get home. So frustrating. The template for the cloud maker was different. They made it look easy and it is! It is just a stencil that you lay on the paper and rub over it with ink with a sponge or cottonball. The one I have is by Fairy Tale Creations (chalk talk 1) but there are others out there as well. My biggest problem is that I usually do light fluffy clouds that don't show up well when I scan or take a picture. I'm going to start making them darker so they show up like I did with this one.

I hope everyone has a good day. Thank you for visiting. I hope my card makes you smile like it does for me.

Tilda

So much for me posting everyday. I had this post written yesterday but the photo was on my other computer and I never got a chance to link it to the post.

I was trying to decide which card to post next. I was looking through the rest of my cards and picked Tilda.

We all seem to have our favorite Companies, Stamps, techniques, etc. I'm not going out on a limb when I say my friend Kerry's favorite company is Magnolia. Out of those it is Tilda. I couldn't believe how many she has. I thought this weekend was a good time to try them out. I picked an easy one as my first. I also didn't want to get too carried away with everything else on the card just in case it didn't "fit". As I look at it now I should have added vines to the stone wall or something. It looks too plain to me. I have to admit she is cute though. I still don't know how I feel about the no mouths though. Hmmmm..... We will see. I have a couple others that I stamped.

I hope to find some time this weekend to play. You would think that after stamping all last weekend I would want to take a break but it seems to have had the opposite effect on me. I want to play more..... We will see.

Well I have to go. Taking 2 days off of work to go away has kept me very busy this week. Thanks for stopping by.

Wild Flowers

Happy Wednesday!

My good friend Michelle and I borrowed some stamps from each other about a month ago. This is one of hers that I wanted to stamp. It is from Whippersnapper. I colored it and thought the Garden Hat I ordered from High Hopes might look good with it so I didn't make a card at that time. I brought it with me this weekend. Sunday AM I was up really early and I was really tired so I didn't want to tempt fate and stamp/color anything before the coffee was ready and I had finished my first cup. I went through the images I brought with me already colored and decided this one really had been hanging around long enough. I am glad I held on it it. I think the Hat really adds alot to the card and goes well with the wild flowers.

The DP is some of my favorite paper. I normally wouldn't pick something so fancy for this stamp but it just seemed to go with it. I really liked the way it came out. I thought about giving this to my Mother for Mothers day but I didn't have a Happy Mothers Day stamp that would fit.

Thanks for coming by on day 3. I hope you like the card.

Willard Weather Ant

Good Morning!

Back to reality today. I'm back at work. I did get most of my stuff upstairs yesterday but not necessarily put away. I decided that I really needed to make my Mother's Day card. With all the cards I made this weekend I didn't get around to Mother's Day. I'm almost done with it which is good since I will need to give it to my Mother this weekend. I will post later this week when I finish it.

Willard Weather Ant is one of the High Hopes stamps Mary and I received free with our order. It is from their new release. I was so excited when I saw it because it was one of the new releases I really wanted. The stamp only has one raindrop but I stamped it multiple times and cut out the raindrops and one of the umbrellas. I put crystal effects on the raindrops and puddles. I popped up the umbrella to give the card a little 3D effect. I used my Cloud template on the background but it is very light. I glittered his gloves to give the card a little sparkle.

The inside of the card has the rest of the saying "and some people just get wet".
I usually like to put both parts of the saying on the front of the card but it didn't fit so I put it inside.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy Willard. Let me know what you think!

Picking Apples

Good Morning! We had a great time in VT. There were alot of laughs, good food and creativity! I made 10 cards and have a few images colored to finish at home!! I will be honest and say that I showed up in VT with a few colored images which saved me alot of time.

I got to play with my new Sugar Nellies and High Hopes stamps. I also have some stamped images from the stamps my friends brought that I can work on here at home. A good time was had by all. Now the not fun part of putting all my stuff back where it belongs. I took the day off of work so I could catch up on a little sleep and so all the stuff I brought wouldn't be sitting in my living room for a week. Now I just need to get motivated to start moving it all upstairs.

I used this Sugar Nellie stamp to make Kerry's Thursday Challenge card. These stamps are so cute and they are so addictive. I have not even played with all the one's my sister Mary and I bought yet and I ordered 3 of their new releases last night. So many stamps, so little time.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you like my card. I hope to find time today to get pic's of all my cards so I can post one every day.
