3CTC19

I started making this card a while ago and then though I could use it for Kerry's challenge last week but got busy and never got it finished. When I saw Kerry's challenge for this week I was happy that this card also fit. So my no layer card turned into a layered card for this challenge. (I'm not a big fan of no layers).

I deal with people everyday from all around the US and it always surprises me when someone from the middle of the country will say "I have never been to a beach" or "I have only seen the beach when I go on vacation". Growing up in New England the beach has just been there any time I wanted to visit it. I forget that everyone doesn't have a coast with water. So I thought a beach card was fitting for the area I grew up (and still live) in.

When I was buying my High Hopes stamps a few months ago I wanted to buy something outside of my norm. This Moose was it. Isn't he cute? Once I got it then I had to figure out what to do with it. This is what I came up with. I stamped the Moose and then masked him. My cloud template came with directions for a beach scene like this. I thought that this would be a great stamp to try it with. I then put stickles on the water to make it stand out and sand on the sand. I had bought a small bag of really fine sand at one of the conventions a couple years ago when I was in my scene making phase of card making. Mary and I share a set of stamps from Seaside and I used the grass from that to add to the beach. I thought the card still needed some color so I made the beach ball. The floaties, flippers and beachball all have crystal effects on them to make them look like plastic.

I really wanted to use a saying from a SU set I have that says Dare to Be Fabulous with this card but it was too big so I went with Wish you were here.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you like my card.

Graduation

It's Friday!!! I have a very busy weekend ahead of me. I have a High School graduation party for my Nephew tomorrow and then my Nieces graduation Sunday (her party is next weekend).

This is the card I made my Nephew. It is so hard to make cards for Males. No bling. Somehow I doubt he would appreciate flowers and such just because I think it would make the card look better. Of course, he will only care about what is in it anyway so..... I thought about ribbon but nothing seemed to look right. The blacks didn't match. Probably because the paper is shiny? Who knows.

Anyway, I can't wait until things settle down and my weekends get back to normal.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and thanks for visiting.

3CTC17

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Mine was uneventful which is exactly how I wanted it.

The next couple of weekends I have graduations and then the graduation parties so I will be busy. It was nice to relax this weekend. I actually had time to stamp. YEAH! I got 4 cards made so I will have some things to post this week.

I made this card for Kerry's Thursdays challenge. I have had this stamp for a long time but have never used it. It was the first stamp I thought of for this challenge. I bought it because I liked how the paper piecing worked with it. The bunnies have fur around them so you just stamp the image on CS and then on 2 pieces of DP. When you lay the DP on the image you see the fur on the CS.
With the right stamps I like paper piecing even though I hate cutting. My cut images usually look it. DP is easier than CS though so this isn't bad.

Well I hope everyone has a good day. I have to get back to work.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you like my card.

Dreams

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. It has been so busy. What happened to the lazy days of summer? Of course the weather doesn't say summer either. It was 57 degrees when I got up this AM.

This is my last card that I have to post from my Vermont trip. I guess I have to get some stamping done. I have been so busy lately I have not had the time to stamp. I have to make a couple graduation cards in the next couple of weeks but other than that I can just make what I want. Hopefully I will find the time. I have new toys that I bought at the Heirloom convention last weekend that are calling to me. I also haven't been doing any challenges which I miss.

This Stamp is from a Clear Art set that I have. I like their stamps. They have alot of detail for clear stamps. I use the words from this set alot. The butterflies are Penny Black. Of course I used my cloud maker. I hope you can see the clouds. My camera batteries died and I don't have any here to replace them so I had to scan the card.
