I'm Sorry, TSSC89

Good Afternoon! I hope everyone is having a good week. The weather is beautiful here. I love this time of year.

I received this image from my friend Kerry. I love the Motivet stamps. They are so cute. I really like the Hippo. I couldn't decide what to put as a saying. Everytime I look at her I think of something else. It especially reminds me of a little kid trying to soften you up after they do something wrong so I put I'm Sorry. I colored her yesterday and was happy to see that I could use it for Mary Jo's sketch challenge. The DP is my favorite from the Basic Grey's Fall package.

I wanted to do something a little more than just a scallop so I added the Spellbinders ribbon circle. This dressed up the card a little so I then added the pearls. When I was finished I thought it looked plain so I added the ribbon and spellbinders swirls. I was going to add flowers but that was getting a little too much away from the sketch. Everytime I look over at the card today I smiled so I know I did something right with it.

I hope this card makes you smile too. Thank you for stopping by. Let me know what you think.

Furry Friends, Sugar Bowl Challenge 20

Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here!

It's Sugar Nellie's Sugar Bowl challenge day! I love the sketches those wonderful ladies pick out. The addition this time was to paper piece on the image. I wanted to use greens on this card but I couldn't find any good paper to use so I went with one of my favorite paper packs from Stampin Up. I love the Blue and Brown together.

I love these Fall Home Grown stamps. They are so fun to play with. I had not thought to paper piece with them but I like how it looks! I will be doing this again!

I realized as I am getting ready to post that I didn't put a saying on this card. I never forget that and now I don't know where to put it. Hmmm...I guess this will be one of those cards that I add the saying later to fit the occasion I will be using it for.

I don't have alot of time to post so I will keep it short. Thank you for visiting. I hope you like my card. Let me know what you think.

Happy Halloween

Good afternoon. I hope everyone is having a good week. Mine is okay so far. I hope it continues that way.

I made this card for Mary Jo's sketch challenge and Basic Grey's challenge. It looked like a fun sketch. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. I love embossing of any kind so when I saw that Basic Grey's was to emboss it was an easy decision to join the fun.

This is my first Halloween card for 2009. I bought the Basic Grey pack and I love the papers. I couldn't wait to use them. I don't have many Halloween stamps so I was limited with what I can do right now. I glittered the spiders so they would show up better and give the card some sparkle. This is the first time I tried moving the Nesties around to get points instead of scallops on the circles. It is so easy. I love it. All you need to do is cut the scallop and then move the die so it cuts in the middle of one of the scallops and you get points. Don't you love the creative people who come up with these things!

I hope this card looks brighter to you than me. For some reason when I attached it the picture looks darker than I thought. Maybe it's just my computer or my new glasses I just picked up this AM.

Thank you for looking at my card. Let me know what you think!

Happy Birthday Mom

Good Morning. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. It is starting to get cold here in the Northeast. It was 37 degrees when I woke up this AM. It is suppose to warm up to the low 70's later which is my perfect type of weather.

My Mothers Birthday is next week and this is the card I made her. I originally had something else in the middle but then when I stamped MOM on it I got a big black line across the image and had to throw it out. I had seen a new set of digi stamps from Fred-She-Said that I wanted so I bought them and used one of the images on this card. I love the flowers from Fred-She-Said but many of them require cutting out and I am not good at that. I am going to try to cut out the paper piercing templates that came with this set for a friends birthday card. Wish me luck.

I also used an Outlines stamp on this card. I was cleaning out my stamps to figure out what I wanted to sell at a yard sale one of my LSS is having and saw this. I have always loved this stamp and decided to use it on this card. I love the way this came out. I hope my Mother likes it too.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card.

It's almost Pumpkin time, TSSC87

When I saw Mary Jo's sketch this week I didn't have any idea what I would do. I found this Class Act Pumpkin stamp and thought it would be fun to color.

After I colored it I couldn't find any DP to match. Then I got my weekly email from
D.A.I.S.I.E. . Every week their newsletter has something free to download. Sometimes it is a stamped image, sometimes things like candy bar wrappers and this week it was free Digi Paper. I thought this might work for my pumpkins and I think it does. I also decided that I wanted to use a stamp I bought at a convention (can't remember from who) that you cut the middle out and run ribbon through it. I bought a few of these but this is the first time I have used one. I'll have to remember the witches hat when I get to doing Halloween cards.

As you probably know I like to put sayings on my cards. I ran out of space on this one and decided just to stamp a little stamp saying "a happy hello". Unfortunetly I obviously didn't mount it straight so it's crooked and as usual with small letters sometimes they don't stamp evenly. Other than that I really like this card.

Thank you for stopping by. Let me know what you think.

Have a sunshiny day!

Happy Sunday everyone! Last week was a long one and I am glad it is over. Hopefully this week won't be as crazy. After laundry, grocery shopping and some cleaning I hope to get some stamping in today. Yesterday Mary and I went to our LSS store to pick up the latest Basic Grey packs. Tim Holtz was there giving a class so we got to see him as a little added bonus to our shopping. When I got home yesterday I told myself not to do any stamping until I picked up my stamping area. I couldn't find anything it was so messy. After that I just got lazy and did a little coloring but not much else.

I saw this stamp a few weeks ago and thought it was a really pretty Sunflower. I colored it with my copics and then thought it needed something else so I put glitter in the middle and put some smooch on the the sunflowers. This is the first time I have used the smooch. I think it gives a little more depth then shimmerz (not that I still don't love my shimmerz). I think they may compliment each other well.

I bought the new Card Maker magazine and saw a card with this layout and thought it fit well with this stamp. There was a similar sample at the LSS using this stamp. I used my tonic punch for the decorative edge. I couldn't find any good small words for the card and it bothered me that the card didn't lay flat when closed so I came up with putting the circle on the side and I punched some additional triangles, cut them out and added them to the circle to use for the card closure. I really like the way it came out.

Thank you for coming by. If you like this card as much as I do please let me know.

My Friend, Sugar Nellie Challenge #19

Good Afternoon! I hope everyone is having a good week. I have been really busy at work because I am filling in for someone on vacation. I woke up really early this AM and couldn't get back to sleep. I saw that Sugar Nellie posted their new challenge so I thought might as well make good use out of the time! This challenge was to follow the sketch and use Pink and Brown.

I fell in love with this Sugar Nellie Home Grown stamp. It is different than any other winter stamps I have. When I saw the layout of the challenge I knew I had to use it. I also knew that I could use my new spellbinders die. I thought it looked plain when I cut it out so I ran it though my snowflake cuttlebug folder. I couldn't decide what to do with the middle of the circle so I layed the snowflakes out that were sitting on my table from punching the bottom of the card. As you can see they also made it on to the sky above image. I know those who know me are shocked that I didn't make a blue cloudy sky as I seem to do on just about every image. I liked it plain and then thought that when it snows the sky is white, not blue so it looked "normal" white.

I didn't have any snowflakes to put in the bottom right of the card so I used the biggest snowflake punch I have, which is still small, and layered them for the embelleshment. It's winter so I had to make snow for the ground. I decided to use glitter for it. I also glittered her pom pom.

I hope you like my card. Let me know what you think.

My Little Red Wagon, TSSC86

Good Morning. I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. Mine was great. I got a couple of cards made this weekend. Not as many as I had planned but it was beautiful here and there was too much to do. I also got some work done on my XMAS cards. This happens every year. I plan out the card and get motivated to work on them in the summer but then they sit there and I loose interest. It doesn't help that since I don't have many to make I tend to make a card that has alot of steps.

I bought this Judikins stamp last year at a convention. I have used it before but never put anything in it. This time I decided to put apples in it for Fall. I have a Stampin Up set that has apples in a bucket. I just cut them out and taped them in the wagon. I cut out a couple of stray apples the stamp had and popped them up on the grass. The reds I used on the apples and the wagon were different and they didn't look good together so I put crystal effects on the apples to make them look good enough to eat. I made this card for Mary Jo's Monday Challenge. The only thing I don't like about it is the grass. I should have colored it in instead of stamping it.

I hope everyone has a great short week. I'm filling in for someone who is on vacation at work so mine will be busy.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you like my card. Let me know what you think.

Welcome Fall, Copic Creations Challenge 11

Good Afternoon! It's a beautiful day here in the Northeast. While my sister and I were out today we noticed that some of the leaves on the trees have started to change colors. A true sign of Fall.

I made this card for the Copic Creations #11 challenge. The challenge was to use your favorite color combinations. I love blue and anything but I find myself always reaching for the softer colors with the darker accents. Since we are approaching Fall I thought I would use some of the less pastel pinks and blues with the maroon accents colors and papers.

The sponser for this weeks challenge is Mo's Digital Pencil. I don't own any so I wasn't able to use one with this challenge but I was looking through her store and she has some wonderful images.

I didn't own alot of copics last fall so I am looking forward to using different combinations this year.

Thank you for looking at my card. Let me know what you think.

Pumpkin Patch, TSSC85

I just received my new Fall Just Rite stamps and couldn't wait to play with them. I decided that this would be a great image to use for Mary Jo's sketch challenge. This weeks sketch looked easy until I tried to think about what to do. The new stamps came just in time and solved my problem.

I'm ready to move on to the new season here. The weather has finally dried out a bit and I can shut off my AC and open the windows. The only bad thing is that it is getting darker much earlier.

I like this set. It has Fall and Thanksgiving stamps. I find myself having a hard time with Fall cards for some reason. This year I have bought some sets that are not just leaves and with the copics I should have an easier time coloring the images that I have so I am looking forward to jumping in and starting the season.

I have one more Summer card that I haven't finished and I have a bunch of Fall Birthday's also so that should help if I find myself in a slump.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like my version of the sketch.
